Virginie Schoonheyt graduated from the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) in june 2008. She started working as a lawyer at Cairn Legal, where she gained experience in Consumer Law and Banking Law.
She is currently pursuing a complementary training in Financial and Banking Law at the Université Catholique de Louvain-la-Neuve (UCL) in order to master legal provisions applicable to financial markets and banks.
Virginie deals with commercial and banking cases, defending consumers and investors as well as banks. These cases are related to Security Property Law (mortgage and guarantees), Insolvency Law (bankruptcy, judicial reorganization procedure, collective debt settlement) and commercial operations relating to the activities of a business (commercial leases, loans, debt recovery).
