Frederic Patoul started his professional activity in 1975 as an in-house lawyer of a bank. He was sworn as avocat at the Brussels bar in 1978 and sin then he developed a particular expertise in banking (bank and stock exchange transactions, public offering, banking agents) and credit law (business credit, consumer credit, mortgage credit).
He attends regularly credit institutions for drafting contracts and in litigation. He defends the creditors in insolvency proceedings (civil and commercial).
He is frequently consulted in matters relating to consumer protection (market practices, investor protection, MiFID).
He is since 2005, permanent member of the College de Mediation (Alternative dispute resolution institution for consumer complaints against banks).
He was commissioned by the Minister of Economy for the writing of a general comment on the Consumer Credit Code.
He has participated in numerous editorial board. He is chairman of the board of CREDAL SCRLFS. He is co-author of several books and numerous articles. He regularly speaks at seminars and conferences.
