A Brussels ordinance of 28/10/2021 requires, from 1/12/2021, that all residential lease contracts signed or renewed after that date and relating to properties located in the Brussels-Capital Region include “the reference rent or the interval of rents around the reference rent” which emerges from the application of the indicative rent grid.
 
This mention is in addition to the other mandatory information already included in Article 218 of the Brussels Housing Code.
 
This order also sets up a joint rental commission that can be seized by the lessor, the tenant, but also by the judge to obtain an opinion on “the correctness of the rent” mentioned in a lease.
